The Orchestra and You

Last Thursday, members of the Little Rock Symphony Orchestra visited Carver to talk about what they do. They also introduced our students to all of the instruments that are played in the orchestra. The students were mesmerized by the beautiful sounds and they all did a great job. Some of them even got to participate as members of the orchestra. Check out some of what happened in the photos below!

Groovy Literacy Night

Last Thursday, we had our annual literacy night at Carver. We had such a wonderful group of volunteers that helped make this a big success. Love Your School, Heifer International, Read to Feed, and many teachers and parents helped make this year’s night the best ever. We started the night with sandwiches and smoothies. Then parents and students rotated through three different rooms to learn about our Read to Feed program, Heifer International and the Book Fair. Here are a few photos of all the fun festivities.

Bird Identification

Lola Perritt from the AR Wildlife Federation taught a lesson to students about bird identification. She took students on a walk around the school to observe birds and then the kids were able to identify the birds in the classroom. Check out some of the fun below!
