Brown is the chili I eat
Brown is the penny I use
Brown is the leaves that fall from trees
Brown is the color that smooths me out
Brown is the color that is my skin
Brown is how people describe me
Brown is the sugar I eat

This week, students learned about leading lines and how they contribute to the composition of a photograph. Check out the photos to see some examples of this in the students’ work.
The field trip to the Ron Coleman Crystal Mines was a huge success. The students had fun and learned a lot about crystals. Here are a few photos from the trip!

Once a month, Lola Perrit with the Arkansas Wildlife Federation, teaches a lesson about the outdoors. On Wednesday, students learned about wood products and how they are all related. Ms. Perrit does a wonderful job of brining the outdoors inside the classroom for kids to learn about nature.
Matiyah R. took our student photo of the week. Mr. Crader’s photography students learned how patterns and textures improve a photograph. Here is Matiyah’s winning photo:
Earlier this week, two teachers from Historic Arkansas visited Carver to teach students about musical instruments. Check out the video and photos below to view some of the fun!
Ron Coleman Crystal Mine Saturday, November 14
-Meet at Carver Magnet School at 8:00. Buses will pull out at 8:15 sharp. Do not miss the bus!
-We will not administer any medicine on the trip.
-Wear closed toe shoes. Bring a coat. Wear clothing you do not mind getting dirty or stained. We will be digging in red clay.
– If you want your child to have sunscreen or bug spray, make sure you put these on your child before the trip. We will not put sunscreen or bug spray on children.
-Students will receive a snack and a small lunch on the trip. We will return by 2:00 to Carver Magnet School. Please be at Carver waiting on your child.
-Permission slips must be completed and returned by this WEDNESDAY, OCT 11 at 3:00 p.m. for students to attend. Return all permission slips to Charlotte Cook. No exceptions! We must have time to reserve buses and lunches.
-Parents may attend the field trip, however, we cannot pay your admission or provide any meal or snacks. Parents must take their own vehicles and be responsible for their selves. Century 21 students MUST ride the bus with us. We are not responsible for any parents or siblings.
