Student Photo of the Week – Shadows and Light – Quentin

Each week, Mr. Crader will select a photo from his photography students that best represents the concepts they learned in class. This week, students learned about shadows and light and how they affect photos. The image you see above was taken by Quentin A. It shows both shadows and light and I love the composition. Quentin had to act fast to capture both Damien and the helicopter in the frame. Way to go Quentin!

Read to Feed

One of the classes in our after school program is Read to Feed. The Rebsamen foundation is sponsoring this class and has pledged $1 to Heifer International for every AR point that students earn. Students earn AR points by reading books and taking comprehension tests on the computer. Picture books are typically worth 1/2 point, while chapter books are worth anywhere from one to 25 points. Our goal is to earn $2,250 for Heifer International. As of today, Carver students have earned 326 points and is 15% of the way towards the goal!
