Congratulations to our 21st Century After School students for earning over 4,000 Accelerated Reader points this year. As a result of our hard work, the Rebsamen Fund donated $2,250.00 to Heifer International on our behalf. Ms. Sellers Roach from Heifer gave us a “Make A Difference Award”. The award was given to our 21st Century After School students for transforming lives around the world. Our gift will help provide livestock and training to families in need. Our gift helps give families income so they can eat nutritious meals, send their children to school and light up a brighter future. A special thank you to the Rebsamen Fund for making this possible. We also want to thank Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Wright for leading the “Read to Feed” program for 21st Century After School.

Come out tomorrow to support our 4th & 5th grade 21st Century students as they perform the Jungle Book Musical at the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library at 11AM and 2PM. Today, Lola Perritt with the Arkansas Wildlife Federation stopped by the Science Lab to talk to kids about aquatic life. During the 21st Century program, she took our 5th grade students out to our school pond to look for the minnows and goldfish that they put in there last fall. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the fish survived the winter months and have grown quite a bit. Students then took water and plant samples from the pond to look at with microscopes in the lab. Everyone had a great time and we appreciate Lola’s expertise in helping identify all of the aquatic life in our Carver pond.
Our 21st Summer Program is currently taking applications. All Carver students that will be in 2, 3, 4, or 5th grade next year (2017-2018) at Carver are encouraged to apply. Complete the application below and return it to Charlotte Cook by April 7, 2017.
